We are traveling from Chicago to Tennessee and we stopped here to eat some cheap barbecue food and was pleasantly surprised. It does not look like much (inside and out of the store) but the food was great. We both got pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and baked beans. The meat was a little sweet so the coleslaw tasted really great with it. The baked beans could have been warmed up because they were slightly cold when I got it but I still enjoyed the meal.

If you love barbecue, you have to eat here.
I have been to so many BBQ places in Lexington and Richmond. Some are good, some are meh, some just don't deserve your time.
But Smitty's? Amazing. Drive down East Irvine Street, around a couple of big curves, until you come to a large, white building. I admit, I almost drove right by it, but thank goodness for GPS! The smoker's right in front, so you can also look for that.
The inside isn't fussy, but the tables are clean and the food is good. Pulled pork sandwich, 5 bucks. Add a side like mac and cheese and a drink for 2 more, and it's well worth it (they don't skimp on their portions).
I even had some leftover today, microwaved it, and it was still so juicy and delicious. If something can survive the microwave without drying out, it's GOOD. -

Was not really a fan. Food was all kind of off, and didn't taste homemade. Ordered from doordash, and didn't get full order either. Honestly, based on other reviews I am guessing that I might have a better experience if I went in to the restaurant, but this first try just left me wanting real barbeque.

This is such a great little place! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner, who treated me like I was part of her family. I had a pulled pork sandwich ($5), fries ($2), and a soda.
Pure deliciousness!! Please come here. The smoker is out front. You can't miss it. -

Excellent Kentucky style bbq! The staff is so friendly and polite. Everything is homemade. This is a mom and pop restaurant. I had the pork sandwich with coleslaw and beans.
